Andover parkrun 204/219
Cool! And drizzly! It could have been worse.
The course is slow at the moment, particularly in the off-tarmac bits. But that's no excuse.
The plan was to start slowly, which I managed rather well, I thought
The next bit: easing up the pace over the course of the run―subject to complaints from the hamstrings―went reasonably well. Not sprinting at the end didn't turn out as I'd hoped: Pete Moody was on my shoulder and speeding up. Given that I'd only just passed him, the red mist descended. Anyway, I got away with it: I both stayed ahead of him (barely) and didn't ping my leg.
The cough seems to be slowly on the way out (hurrah!); the niggly hamstrings are still there but not getting any worse (slightly more muted cheering). There is either light at the end of the tunnel or there's a train coming.
An enjoyable start to a grey and dismal Saturday.
