Notes & Comments
Farnborough Winter Half Marathon (22nd)
This race lived up to the "winter" part of its name. Not only was it cold, it was wet, windy and snowy too. I didn't know what I'd be able to do so started on pace for 80mins and hit half-way bang on, and then I discovered that the "little hill" (ie short but sharp) at 6.5k and then again at 18.6k is not the only hill in the run; there are a few undulations and a long 2.6k gradual pull from 10k which scuppered any plans of a sub-80.
In the end ran a pretty consistent race and felt really good all the way round. I'm not sure what's up with my HR readings as they appear a little on the low side but my little legs didn't feel like they could take me any faster to get the HR up... maybe the cold and snow was having a suppressive effect.
Didn't bother with a cool down as getting out of my wet clothes out in the open was cooling enough.
