Notes & Comments

New York Marathon. Was over the moon that I completed the race and pretty happy with the time. Considering how little training I'd done and how badly the training I had done had gone I was hoping for around the 6 hour mark so to come in 10 minutes quicker was great. Went out too quickly as I always manage to and went through 10k 1 minute slower than my best ever 10k time and hit the halfway point in just under 2:39 which was a lot quicker than I planned on. Got a stitch not long after which slowed me up for 9 miles. Walked and ran the last half. My spirits picked up after 20 miles when I knew I only had 10k to go and I was going to make it to the finish. Legs didn't really want to know after 23 miles and the last bit was painful and seemed to take forever. The 35 block walk back to the hotel after because getting a taxi was impossible didn't even manage to make me miserable. Very happy and almost looking forward to the next one.
