First attempt at a commute run post move. Train in the morning was a bit of a fail! Left at 6:45, got to work at 5 past 8! Got to station in 10 mins, parked easy and for free, short walk (underpass) to station. 6:59 pulled in, I wasn't sure if I needed a ticket before boarding train (I didn't). While buying ticket, train pulled away! Next one was 7:12 (cancelled!), 7:17 went to another station (South Gyle instead of Edinburgh Gateway, with hindsight I could / should have got that). 7:26 went where I wanted, but it was delayed! Arrived 7:38 and got to EP 7:55 (more delay). None of this mattered. If I did it again (and I might because 7:00 drive is rubbish - 1 hour for a 30 min journey), I'd leave 7:10 for the 7:26. On a good day that should be 45 mins, getting me to work by 8. But then I have no car at work, so it has to be a non gym, and non club run day. Unless I change gym and club! Decisions, decisions! The actual run back evening was good. I felt tired and slow, but actually pace looks OK overall. And a 10.6 mile run is pretty good run for a day. Options to extend obviously by running all the way home - 17 miles? Might take today off, because feel a bit stiff after that. Saturday there will be no parkrun as we have carpet cleaner coming. Possibly no bad thing!
