Notes & Comments
Half Marathon debut at the Shakespeare Half Marathon in Stratford. Pleased with the run after a intense week of cycling and a very long run on Monday which left me exhausted. Was also sick the night before which made preparation worse. Felt quite good for the first 3 miles but then gradually tired and was exhausted by 6/7/8 miles where the going was extremely tough. I managed to get a second wind at about 9 miles as I knew the end was close. I picked the pace up along the flat dismantled railway line and finished well but very heavy-legged! Crowds were very supportive which made it easier. Took two water stations at about 6 and 10 miles.
