Well, I got there in the end.
The weather wasn't quite as bad as predicted - the rain held off but the winds were very strong, particularly along the coast road.
In mile 17 I had a loo stop and mile 18 saw the turn into the headwind all the way to the finish. As you can see by my mile times, the wind really slowed me down, probably adding about 30 secs on per mile.
All in all though, i'm happy with this!

Amazing pace and so pleased for you. Now you can relax and enjoy the glory
What's next? The mile of Fame on Tuesday, that's what!! I'm over the moon, you did so well and it is so well deserved, many, many congratulations!! I don't suppose you can wear the medal at work, but keep it close to remind you just what you've achieved, by your dedicated hard work, brilliant!!
Well done amazing run in less than perfect conditions. Wear that medal with pride and it needs to go on the wall in the kitchen
Thank you all for your help throughout and your comments. Yes HH I think I need to find a space next to those Ironman medals!
