Eye 10k. Great to see the place full of yellow and blue
This was hard work today but pleased I did it. I wasn't sure what would happen after doing 37 miles on my bike yesterday, although they weren't all fast miles. HH had suggested trying 8:48m/m which would get me a pb so my aim was to try that and see how I felt.
Started off near the front and found myself going way too fast and then found it hard to slow down, my garmin was showing km which also confused me a little. It was breezy and warm today and by 2k my legs felt like jelly. I just had to dig deep and keep going. By 7k I wanted to stop but I was following Grumps from Bushfield who was helping some ladies so I just kept trying to follow them.
It was lovely to see the WJ supporters in the last mile and hear their encouragement. I gave them a smile but inside I was willing it all to end. I still had something left though and managed to speed up for the end
So I got a lovely shiny new PB by just under a minute and ran nearly 2 minutes quicker than last year. My average pace according to my garmin was 8:47m/m so job done! Marathon training and sheer determination really does help
