Honestly.....my first thoughts when I finnished were 'gutted'.
Not the run I was hoping for.
Knee was ok till about 6 mile, then faded on and off again, left leg just wasn't happy. Tight glute, hammy and lower back.

Had to stop for a 'Paula Radcliffe' moment behind a bush. Not proud of that!!
Just hope I don't feel like this after VLM, can handle having an off run now just please not in 4 weeks time. Fingers crossed.

Try and stay positive...your run today was a good one and ditto to a toilet stop,i did the same behind a tree in Langham and lost 20 or so places..lol we both need to taper now and hopefully will be race ready on the big day :-)

Don't beat yourself up, Maddie! It might not be the race you wanted today, but that was always going to be the gamble with racing the relays the day before. Unless you've been running for a lot of years, it's always going to be tough to race well two days on the bounce (especially with the weather we've had this weekend-running into strong headwind will always be tougher on the body as you'll be tightening up as you push into it). I personally think you did well, and it's fantastic marathon training-13 miles faster than goal marathon pace today on tired legs from a county medal winning run yesterday! Chin up and go and admire your county silver once more ;-)
