Forest of Dean Half Marathon
Good race in the end. Horrible weather conditions and took a chance with wearing racers on this "trails" course but aprt from some puddles and slippy bits near the end the course was in pretty good nick. Predominantly uphill for first 9 miles (with a couple of sneaky switchbacks) made for quite hard going but then a crazy 4 miles of downhill made for a fast finish (including 5:34 for 13th mile). Beat all Westbury guys bar Glover, which was nice. Probably my best half marathon being only 1/2 minute out on a demanding course. Well organised race. Result: 22nd out of 1346
