Kent Road Runners marathon - Cyclopark. I had hope for this marathon that it would be my SB and sub 3:50 but wasn't to be. I'm in good shape but the weather was warm with unbroken sunshine for a couple of hours before it clouded over a little. Clearly the 8:35 pace I wanted was going well till mile 21 then it went tits up. I then struggled with cramp in my calfs when walking up the slope so ran / plodded for some stretches. Not sure why I'm getting cramps in the latter parts of marathons. FR was the driver of the 3:45 bus and ran well and comfortably. Again gels were every 4 miles. Not sure why I can't go sub 3:50 at the moment. Oh well, it will come.

Runners = 473 position = 108.

Great event, well organised. Course undulating with one slope approaching the start / finish.
