Milton Keynes Marathon: Position = 528/2105

Had a great run, clocking my fastest marathon in 21 years.

The course was quite boring (lots of dual carriage ways for the first half and then some cycle tracks in the second half). That said, it had plenty of undulations (especially in the second half) to keep us entertained.

Started feeling fresh and finished feeling pretty good as well. I kept an eye on my mile splits all the way and they never really slowed that much (a little bit in the last 10k, especially when tackling some of the bigger hills), but I was quite surprised by how well I was still running in the last mile.

Didn't carry water today. Bottles were served every 3 miles, which was great. Took gels every 4 miles, but didn't bother at 24 miles. Weather was warmish at 16 degrees with sun, but it didn't really bother me.

I guess it was my day today, but that said, the training I've put in since Portsmouth (December) has been good and consistent and that must have helped keep me strong in the last 10k.
