Notes & Comments

Virgin London Marathon 2014

Chip time: 02:46:27 Not happy with this result. Halfway I was on target but again slowed on the last third (albeit not nearly as much as in the Milton Keynes or Bournemouth marathons) Not sure why as my training was great this winter and I fuelled up fine before the race. Yes it was hotter than I would have liked & the pollen made my breathing difficult, however I should have done far better. At 20 miles I was 2 minutes behind my Finchley 20 time! I need to learn from this a tweak my training - I'm not at my ideal race weight so that's something that I can work on for the forthcoming Kent Road Runner Marathon in late May.
