Flat course achieved a PB with great help from the pacers.
Very congested start which would benefit from signs indicating anticipated finish time.
Starts to far side of the racecourse from where most park so allow 10 minutes to jog to the start.

Lovely big racecourse, about 1 and a half laps. Finish a long way from start so visit the finish area first if you want to leave a bag. Very wet and congested the day I did it before Yorkshire Marathon, but big PB potential on a better day I imagine.

Pan flat 1.5 laps on tarmac. Busy, particularly at the start, and entire route is visible pretty much throughout - which is either inspiring or dispiriting depending on personal preference. No toilets and no on-site cafe.

One & 3/4 laps of the inside tarmac path around the racecourse , starting at the far side & finishing in front of the grandstand - fast & flat but often windy - large numbers means the start can be a little congested

Meet bottom of Cherry Lane but limited parking, so use Knavesmire Road & jog 10 minutes to start! Follow the crowd. 500+ runners common.

So if coming from the South I got a train to York and stayed at the racecourse only £70 I was on the way to Manchester anyway. The course is flat and fast on tarmac might be puddles (rained night before). Start was about 1 mile away from finish.

Very busy parkrun on the narrow service road around the racecourse. Might have to dodge the odd puddle after rain. A fast course but numbers mean it could take you 30 seconds to even pass the start line.

1 2/3 laps of the service course at the racecourse. Can be pretty congested at the start. Not the most exciting of courses but it does give the opportunity for a letter Y. Nice and flat. And also plenty of people there.

Flat 1.5 laps round the racecourse on tarmac path. Very busy but soon spread out. Friendly volunteers, coffee stand past finish. No toilets available on course.

Super flat Super fast no sharp bends on tarmac path. Not sure why I was so rubbish when I visited

1.5 laps, all tarmac, flat as a pancake. Run on service road on the inside of the horse-racing track. Often busy. Very exposed so really notice if it's windy! Quite a lot of parking in the surroundings and plenty of fence to lock bikes to.

1.5-lap course around the Racecourse. Tarmac paths and very flat, with minimal cornering, so potential to be quick, but exposed to the elements. Loads of street parking on Knavesmire road, but no toilets.
