Enaoslm 17th. Started better this time to ease in with early hills, fast middle miles and slower more difficult last couple of miles. Club championship so needed to beat John Bigg. And did; overtook him at 8k marker. Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC 36:50 36:50 38:00 36:52 72.91

lildude Given my recent good performances over 5km, I thought I'd be up for a fast time today, despite this being a bit of a challenging course. I set sub-38 in my mind and I went for it.

After a bit of a quick start which felt far too easy, I settled into a comfortable pace and ticked over the km aiming to keep my average time per km under 3:48. This worked a treat except for the little 'sting in the tail' which is the incline and hill in the last 2km of this race.

On entering the field for the finish, I looked up to see the time on the clock was approaching 37:45 so I dug in and sprinted to the finish, pipping a chap on the line, coming in under 38mins.

This knocked a whopping 50 seconds of my previous 10k PB (38:45) and a huge 1:56 off my previous best for this race (39:51).

Given this is deemed a slightly tough race, I wonder what my time would have been over a nice flat 10k known for fast times. FERC 34:08 37:55 37:55 69.86
Mrs. Mole Blimey, I didn't really want to race this one but I'm glad I did, a PB which I certainly wasn't expecting. Sandhurst Joggers, Spa Striders RC 50:11 50:11 54:09 50:11 71.13
