APC Along with many others I was heading for a sub 30 min finish for this one. Sadly 25% of the field had to run almost an extra full mile before the race organisers decided that they had missed a marshalling point! Amateur at best, sorry guys I know this is your first event but there is a lot involved in running races, including marshalls where required, maps of course available, clearly marked start and finish (a race with no marked finish is a bit of a misnomer), t- shirts in only large male and small female a bit off, finshing line staff having little or no idea how to record results leaving runners to get it organised, a shout to start the race...come on, water required at finish. The front runners in the Fun Run were all kids (first 7 at least) they all stayed behind hoping for at least a mention in the presentation, these are 8-10 year olds who ran the 1.3 miles in sub 8-10 mins they deserved a mention at least, they are our sports future. The Leigh Harriers team of kids in particular did VERY well. They should be congratulated.
I really believe that this could be a good, no a great race, well supported, an event which kind of ends the road season and starts the cross country season off. You worked very hard to get the event off the ground and much was successfull, You needed more experienced help on the day..it is out there, ask a local club, maybe they or individual members will give you a hand. I certainly will should you go for this again. Unaffiliated 31:45

DANBERT I really enjoyed this run and hope it becomes a regular feature in the running calendar. It was run over a belting little course that was made up of connecting stretches of disused railway line, cross country, trail and grass paths. Amazingly i was fifth finisher (due to the fact that the sharp end of the field missed a left turn.) Rochdale Harriers & AC 33:40 33:40 34:50 33:40 60.04
jolguk I loved it. It was a proper multi-terrain, with trails on a disused railway, lots of running through woods, fields, steps, and even stepping stones over a stream. Nice family atmosphere with the 2k, too, and Roe Green and round there is gorgeous. I didn't get affected by the front runners being sent the wrong way, either, and assured the T-shirt lady, who'd taken a bit of abuse by some fast people, that I'd give it a glowing review! I was quite pleased with my time, considering I had quite a bit of wine yesterday. Dragons RC 35:31 35:31 35:31 60.77

Jezzer Good fun and a good course, apart from the cock-up over the route. Chorlton Runners 36:20 36:57 36:57 59.31
Uwe 1st race since April 2006 after 13 months of no running due to injury (plantar fasciitis). Blew up! Set off far too fast and just couldn't manage the small hills towards end. Unaffiliated 37:38 37:38 33:00 37:38 56.33

Dad of 3 Had a walk around the area today 22.09.07 with my dog. It should be a fast first half of the race. I'm not sure about the last half though because I didn't get the route right. We will see tomorrow. Hope it does'nt rain during the night or tomorrow. I hope to have an average pace somewhere around 8' to 8'30'' min/miles.

Race day and all was well. Dry but slippy and muddy in places but that's what you get for a trail race. Plenty of steps to get those legs burning and heart pumping. I would do it again next year if it's on. Can it be on a cool sunny day next time. Saw Tyrone from Corrie should have took my camera. Note to self take camera on races.
