B Rubble Felt quite tough. Was it the wind, the hill (didn't seem too bad) or the heat (not too hot)? Glad to get in (just) under 1:35. Nice day out on relatively quiet roads and a well organised event. Dursley Running Club 1:25:12 1:31:56 1:34:55 63.47
Dochart Parking, changing, toilets and tea & buns are all available at race HQ at Pewsey School, a few miles south ofMarlborough. The route heads west into the vale of Pewsey, mostly a long quiet country lanes. It is fairly flat except for a longish but not very steep hill at around 4 miles. Well marshalled with 3 water stations. The day was quite warm with bright sunshine for much of the race but a very pleasant cooling breeze. My plan was to 8m/mile and after a slow first mile I tagged onto another runner going at a slightly faster pace than my target and managed to stay with them round the course. 127/319 Stragglers 1:28:06 1:41:50 1:50:00 1:42:44 60.10
Duncs Suprised that I did so well. Felt OK and just kept going. According to my Gamin it was .25miles longer than it should have been but I've taken the official time. 100 Marathon Club, Highland Hill Runners 1:31:19 1:37:13 1:45:00 1:37:13 60.42

Heavyweight Found this very tough - mainly I think because I have not really done the mileage recently. Course was hilly & exposed in places - very well organised event. Was going well at 8 miles (1:14) but ran out of steam. UKnetrunner 1:41:41 1:58:38 2:08:00 48.24
Jonny Nice challenging course. Felt good for the first 7-8 miles where I was knocking off 7 min miles with ease, even when climbing hills. Started to hurt at 9 miles & struggled into the finish. Still short of the endurance required for this length of race. Unaffiliated 1:27:05 1:27:05 1:38:11 59.05
Sir Moses Hill Very pleased with a PB by 30 secs despite never really feeling in tip top form. Bit stiff and tired after hard sessions on Thursday and Friday, followed by 4 hours of cricket on Saturday, and so only decided to 'go for it' 3-4 miles into the race.

Managed to tag onto a couple of strong runners between 5 and 8 and they pulled me along and past probably 30 others. I overtook before they caught me again around 11, at which point they revealed they are sub-80 min half marathoners but were on a long training run for the New Forest marathon next month. They'd ran 5 miles before the start and were extending the race by a further 4 miles. One of the lads said he'd ran FLM06 in 2:49, so it was fun running with them and they both gave me a warm congratulations at the finish.

The course was beautiful. No closed roads but very little traffic, and the sun shone without being too hot. Facilities at the school were excellent. I half expected a P.E. teacher to stand at the entrance of the showers to make sure we weren't dodging the water.

If I'm around next year I'll definitely do this one again. Well organised, slick and friendly. And that PB. Unaffiliated 1:34:51 1:34:51 1:34:51 61.12
