paskha Tresco, Isles of Scilly - I had to walk from mile 16 as I had stomach problems, but have still never pulled out of an event! This has to be my second favourite marathon !! (counting Dartmoor Discovery as my favourite, although it's an Ultra) It's a fabulous event, 7.5 laps round the island, views all round. I would do it every year if I could afford to!! It is actually quite expensive as 2 nights on St Mary's (2 nights on Tresco costs loads more ...) plus the boat across from Penzance (helicopter costs more) and both years I've been, I took my son Joe (27.9.91). We had a great time. The purpose of the marathon (held on same day as London every year) is solely to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis and is the only event I know of where YOU HAVE TO RAISE at least £300. No clubs are mentioned in the results, just your name, age, and where you are from. Fantastic support & 5 feed stations on every lap, fab luxury buffet & bubbly apres race - unique event and wonderful place, no cars! beaches to yourself, it's another world Mounts Bay Harriers 4:28:24 4:49:00 4:45:00 5:57:00 43.94
