Dave A I'm a little bit short of mileage in my legs, but I reckon I can do this one ok. Ran Coniston 14 in sub 1:30, so hoping to hit a 1:30ish time. 1st ever half as well, so definate PB. UPDATE. Completed in 1:27:09. 1st ever half marathon. Legs still felt short of mileage, but not a bad PB on a tough course. Uphills not steep, but long. Downhills steep, including 1 1/2 miles off road downhill in road shoes! Unaffiliated 1:19:41 1:27:09 1:30:00 1:27:09 66.52
Lisrun Did this last year and it is tough, potentially hot and big long hills. Doing two half marathons on previous weekends so if I am too beat after them I won't be doing it. *Update* Im going to do this, my legs feel fine having had four days of rest, so I will see if I can beat last year's time. Could be very wet.....*Update* Not as wet as it could have been, mainly drizzle, but cold for July. The hills didn't seem as bad as last year and as it wasn't so hot I ended up about 2 minutes faster. I had two sisters and 2 nieces helping with the marshalling and it was good to see them.
