Jimbo 4 days before the race I picked up a hamstring injury and my hopes of getting a sub 45 seemed dashed.
During the warm up I could really feel the injury and was hoping to get round in one piece, so think how shocked I was when I finished in a PB of 42:47. Nearly 5 minutes off my time at last years event.

KatieB I will be happy with around 51 mins for this, and a decently paced race...with a digital watch!!!!So there slow going.
Update: well i guess the reverse psychology worked then. I sneaked my first ever sub 50! Felt fantastic up to 6.5k, then it all got quite tough. Remembered mrb saying Bedford Harriers AC 45:00 49:20 51:30 49:20 61.92

PlodderRW AFTER: Well time wasn't as hoped, but pleased to be sub-50 and lots faster than last year. Could do with some more speedwork and a bit more time to get fully back from injury. Good run though, pushed it the whole way, legs burning. Cold sunny skies, little wind, conditions were perfect.
BEFORE: Hoping to celebrate return from injury. Training has been up and down so no idea whether I'll be even close to 48.19, but will give it a go, would be a new PB. One year since I started running again after a few years break, so if all else fails i'll try to beat my 54 something from last year's race. Unaffiliated 46:53 48:20 48:19 49:52 60.90

The Shadow A good few weeks off following a brief stay at my local NHS establishment, I didn't think a slight improvement was possible. A gloriously sunny day and very well organised; still chasing the 'sub 50' mark - one day. Unaffiliated 49:23 50:35 55:00 50:35 54.41
Ulric Not racing, just used as a training run. Had to slow to walk at one stage due to health probs. Average heart rate 135, max 156. Unaffiliated 32:56 53:04 53:04 53.05
