april_runner I am so happy to have knocked a whole five minutes off my PB, despite the gruelling hills and the pulled adductor muscle. The hills were hard work and it was also windy in places - but we couldn't have had a better morning for it - bright, crisp and not too cold - in a beautiful rural setting. Thank you to all the kind supporters out there cheering us all on - and to the friendly fetchies that said hi! :) Cambridge & Coleridge AC 1:24:58 1:48:15 1:52:00 1:48:15 59.56
Badger This'll be my third half in 2006. Wonder how that happened...
Two days ago my neck was hurting too much to drive here, never mind run the race, and the weather forecast was appalling.
Today, body working as well as it ever does (put it this way, you're never going to get me mixed up with Gobi), chopped 5min20 off my PB, and you couldn't have asked for a better day to run. Clear, perfectly cold so you can run your socks off without overheating, dry. Course looked great, well marshalled and very little traffic even on the non-traffic free bits.
Met a whole pile of fetchies before the start - April runner, KatieB, MRF, runnyeyes and Schnecke, and had a chat with Luverlylegs about mile 8 or so and a quick hello with Old Man & Frizzle early on. FERC 1:39:51 1:52:41 1:57:00 1:52:41 53.47
Bettsy 8 seconds to cross the start. I really enjoy this course. Norwich Road Runners 1:18:26 1:20:50 1:21:21 71.47
Chaz Updating my profile with more Half marathons from the past to increase the scoring potential for this PB attempt...
Update on 12th. Feeling very confident of a PB next sunday. A recent 13.1 mile training run was completed in 1h29m30s with no real discomfort. It has been too long since I ran my half PB (OCT 04), it needs updating! Will set off at 6m30s per mile pace, with the hope of a sub 1h25m run.
Well chuffed, first PB since MAY 05. Back on track. Thanks to those who bet. Wootton Road Runners 1:22:52 1:23:47 1:26:43 1:23:47 69.21

DrBob First half marathon for about 20 odd years and I really didn't know how it would go. Quite enjoyed it as it happens, although the last few miles were tough due to lack of training and being oveweight. PLeased with the time and felt it was a good start to my new running exploits. frizzle A few hills. Would love to go under 2 hours but won't be able to beat my PB from GER. UPDATE- Well went under 2 hours (just!!) Would have liked to have got closer to my PB but will have to save that for another time!!! Was feeling really good until 8 and then died!!! Go-KL As feared didn't take part in this event - still allowing the shin injury to clear up - a real shame as the presentation was superb. I shall definitely endeavour to do this event next year. Grantham Running club 1:14:46 1:19:45 1:24:00
GOM. As long as I get a good run at it, feeling good after what I managed at Dublin. So am going to go for it!!!!!

And I did go for it and got the time that I wanted!!!!

Greenman This was my best time yet for this course. Ideal conditions, sunny and not much wind and quite warm out of the shade. Grantham Running club 1:20:38 1:22:31 1:22:42 72.30
hammerite Enjoyed this (apart from the headwind at 9.5-10.5 miles!). Not a brilliant time for me, but no complaints as I was aiming for 8min miles, and I've not had enough long runs in to do any better.

Well organised by Riverside, and good to see so many fetch vests!! Bedford Harriers AC 1:36:06 1:44:32 1:44:32 55.46
Jigs What a day !! First race at this distance, first ever run of this distance, and blew my intended time out of the water!! Nice Fetch gathering before the start, with Luverlylegs, 2 Flat Feet, Running Rev and KatieS
Started race with Luverlylegs, with who I ran 3 miles, but felt I had to push on. Felt good, and met some more Fetchies along the way. Slight low point about 9 miles, but kicked on ok. Around 11 miles, spotted 2FF in the distance and chased him to the finish.
Great weather, great Fetchies, great Marshalls, great result !! Unaffiliated 1:19:28 1:43:19 1:50:00 1:43:19 57.14
KatieB Loved this last year. Would love a pb off the back of marathon training, as long as my legs are recovered from Abingdon. Very excited about meeting Su. :-) *UPDATE* Woken up with the start of a cold, sore throat and cough...will give it a go but it's not looking great. Sorry. :( *UpDATE* Ran a lovely race with Runnyeyes who did really well. Not putting my time in so betters don't lose out too much. :) Bedford Harriers AC 1:41:26 1:50:44 1:47:00 2:01:54 53.59
KinkyS Not a PB but my second fastest half ever, and on a much harder course than my PB time. Wheels fell off badly with an 8:05 ninth mile but managed to pull myself together for a strong finish and 7 minute final mile, helped by the downhill stretch from 10-13 :-) Todmorden Harriers & AC 1:31:57 1:36:13 1:38:33 65.42

No.8 â„¢ Oooh, had a stinker today, it didn't happen. Something's not right and I don't know what but after 9 miles I was dead on my feet.

Put that one down as a bad experience ...... 2 weeks to put things right and a big 10 miler Unaffiliated 1:15:00 1:22:28 1:19:59 1:25:16 68.37

Old Man Not really sure what time we'll do after such a good GER. Would like to break V45PB if I can though (1.56.33)UPDATE Ran with Frizzle, the undulating course in the first half ment we just fell short despite last three miles being down hill!! Pushed Frizzle to get under 2 hours though!! Thomas Cook RRC, Werrington Joggers 1:50:48 1:56:48 1:58:00 1:59:54 52.36
Paulie Perfectly organised race around the country lanes of St Neots. The gentle downhill over the last three miles makes this a very fast course. Book early for next year! Trail Running Association, LDWA 1:29:49 1:33:51 1:33:51 65.79

RunningRev 01:39:47 was my chip time!!! WHOOO!!! Feel great! This was the best half marathon I have ever done! Of course it is bitter sweet however as this run will never be officially credited to me :( I ran with Su2's number, so Im sure she will be pleased with the time :)

Met some great fetchers and had a WONDERFULL time! Finished it off with a slapup meal! A PB course for sure with that loverly 3 mile down hill at the end! UKnetrunner 1:38:01 1:38:01 1:40:00 1:39:47 58.10
runnyeyes That was fantastic! Katie B kindly agreed to pace me to see how close to 2hrs I could go..we started steady 9mms. slightly slower for those hills..enjoyed chattering and nice rural route.By mile 7 I was beginning to find it tough, but kept pushing to stay with Katie. Conversation becoming more and more one sided!..but Katie kept up some chat to distract me! Got to 9.5 miles.this 'all down-hill from here' promise took a while to materialise..! First time I've used other runners to aim for and pick them off.Much encouraging/positive comments from Katie ..meanwhile she's getting,at best, mono-syllabic replies.Tough at 12miles..and Katie pulls out trump card.. Schnecke Really pleased with this time - I was hoping to manage 2hrs 10, and very glad to beat that. Glad to finally do my first half marathon, after a setback earlier this year, and two lots of injury. Did find it very tiring, but friendly runners and marshalls kept me going - bless 'em.
