brotherjohn That was hell today, the cycling TT in the week did my legs in and every incline today was a struggle. Not one of my best, but fortunately come in as 1st V50 and 13th place in 1:19:23 chip time. A nice event, but somewhat spoiled by the weather today. It seemed even more hilly than last year! BigChiefRunningBore post marathon wang. Had done 3 hard short races in the week before so not ideal prep. Went off hard and fell apart at 9 with no energy. ho hum - good to run in light rain rather than the usual roasting. Rubbish start due to Mayor not being there to press the button! Naomi P Not hugely impressed with the start - big queues for baggage tent (send the tags out in the race packs, you've already put the money grabbing paying in slips in there so it's not that hard), timing pens almost useless (sub 1:30 and 1:30 - 2:00 hours? FFS) and start delayed for 20 minutes, when it was raining. However, nice when under way - loads of water stations and marshals who were very supportive, and the finish had a fair sense of occasion about it and the ice lollies would have been great if it had been warm. Not an easy course, though there seemed to be more downhill than uphill. Last mile is good fun. Wasn't racing this one so pleased with a shade under 1:42. Nice touch to text you your finish time.
