runningj Weight on race day = 167.4  (AVG HR = 168 & AVG Pace = 6:36)------------    First race in 10months and it felt great. My goal was to run 6:45miles for the entire race. My first mile was 6:16, but really didn't feel too bad. Some strong winds, but forested area on the South side of the course helped break the wind. Took 32 seconds off last years time.

Splits - M1= 6:16 (160bpm); M2= 6:41 (170bpm); M3=6:35 (173bpm); .10m = 57sec (175bpm) - Reached about 95% max HR toward end of race. Actually saw 182 once around mile 2.5 (that's the highest I've ever read) 

The only downside was I got outkicked by David in the last 200 meters. Tried to respond, but couldn't muster the power. Overall, I'm happy with the results. I have to work on my finishing kick. I hated getting outkicked. After a few weeks of base training, I'm going back into serious speed and tempo work. I think the lifting will also help.
