PlodderRW BEFORE: No idea what pace I'm at at the mo after a few months of little training. This course is undulating, would love to be under 49 but not sure that will happen, will try to ignore time and run how feel, this would be my best guess.AFTER: First half in 24.12, struggled after 6.5K. Felt better when realised second fastest time ever - and after heaviest mileage week and relatively poor 3 months training. Unaffiliated 46:53 46:53 49:00 48:01 62.39
Tanktop 2nd race in a week where I've had to stop/slow down becasue of stomach cramps. Really very irritating because I know I'm in shape to PB. Having said that, I do really like the Woburn course, and it was nice that so many peoepl asked me if I was OK when I was doubled over in agony at the 6K mark! Read in RW that I could have an isotonic drink intoloerance. Weird. Unaffiliated 39:55 39:55 45:05 58.75
Tim of Fife Well, what is there to say about today's little outing around Woburn Safari Park.

On the minus side, it was way too hilly and windy for someone used to training indoors on a nice flat treadmill. Also, my MP3 player had an 'off day' (of course, it's fine now), so I had to race without music for the first time. Finally, there was still a bit of the Notts. Marathon in my legs.

On the plus side, I met Jenni/Chris - thanks for the lift and the company guys. The scenery was beautiful. The organisation was spot on. I got 'up close and personal' with several lionesses (thank God for electric fences). And I chatted to a couple of really friendly runners around the second half of the course.

Time-wise, my stop-watch says 47.00 dead. A bit slower than my all-time PB (45.06), but still my second best 10kms time ever and by far my best around Woburn.

So, overall, have got to be very pleased! Unaffiliated 45:06 45:06 47:00 60.65
starfleet1985 Great race, stunning scenery, Knocked lots of my time from last year. Pity about the placing of the km boards. Unaffiliated 48:57 52:01 54:00 52:01

Hippity Woo-hoo! Was aiming for under an hour and did that and some! Really enjoyed the course, it wasn't nearly as hard as the last race I did, and the red dear, lions and wolves made an interesting change to my usual plod around the village. Very well organised and lovely scenery. :) :) :) Huntingdonshire AC 51:57 57:37 57:37 51.99
BrianJ Really pleased with this one - quite a long incline at start, but still able to lop over a minute off my Standalone time from the previous week. This race is a lot less crowded than their February ones ( I DNS in Feb due to illness), and weather was perfect. North Herts Road Runners 55:07 57:14 57:14 52.35
