Mushroom First time at Sheffield. Enjoyed the race but struggled for the last 5 miles - lack of energy meant I plodded home.

Cavey Gutted. Wanted a 1:42, or 1:47 at the very worst. All going well until 9 miles and then the wheels came off. To draw on the positives I was 12mins faster than last year, and I still went sub 1:50 after 7 weeks without a training run. Good to meet RooA and Santy, some welcome support at 5/7 miles. The negatives, my left foot is very sore again and I fear the worst. Will have to see how I feel tomorrow.

trouty 104th place 6th V45, fairly pleased with the time, however a bit unhappy with some of my pacing.... a bit too fast a the start, and hit a bad patch at about 12-12.5 miles.

Ecclesall road was special as always, runners on both sidea of the road, spectators on both sides, live band! best part of race, apart from crossing the finish line of course :)
See you next year!!

giggsy Cool and drizzly - ideal weather for running! Tried to start at a steady pace instead of haring off and other than flagging alittle at 11 miles pretty pleased with everything. Dipped under 1:25 for the first time so really pleased with my time and fingers crossed means things should look good for the Edinburgh Marathon next month and a possible sub 3hr finish, just need to get stuck into the training between now and the end of may.

PJL My third half-marathon, and first serious attempt at sub-90 mins. Pre-race nerves (or something) resulted in a rubbish night's sleep. Warming up before the race I felt awful, so realistically 90 mins was never going to happen - that'll have to wait another 3 weeks. Still, I had a PB to beat, which I did by a full minute, maintaining a fairly steady 7-min pace all the way to about mile 11 (despite forgetting to turn the Garmin autolap feature on), then gritted my teeth for the last 2.1. Fairly satisfied with the result.

DeeGee You know I said it would definitely not be a PB. Well conditions were so perfect for me that it seemed churlish not to at least have a crack.

That was a wonderfully organised race with just the right amount of challenge and variety to keep me going. Thanks to the Fetchies on the course for cheering me on as well.

DIGGER BYROM Final time could be quicker, ensure of chip time yet, but definately a PB! What a great race, wonderful to start and finish in the Don Valley Stadium and the behind the scenes facilities were the best i've seen at a race yet. The course was just right, a mixture of hills and flat and just when it got challenging, up to the half way loop, the crowds came out in force, cheering everyone on. Will definately do this race again.

DaveRedford First and so far only half... pace calculators indicated that 1:30 should be achievable based on my 10K PB... worked out I needed 6:51/mile to achieve this.
First mile 6:30 - this always happens - slowed a bit - found out how difficult it was to look at mile marker 'x' and do 7x (minutes) - 9x (seconds) in my head before I passed it! Realised by mile 11 or so that I was probably going to be OK...
