Hills of Death (HOD) We should be cracking the champers open after this one YES YES My run was carp but then again I know exactly how Paulie and Tramps felt like at Bishops. Did a Long Run day before I was knacked after that. So started race knacked (and after my bessie mate b'day drink) went out similar to what I would norm on a race then after the second stream hit a mini wall. Then a HILL passed by various people that I've never seen on this XC Vicksta passed me good running girl. Well and trully F%^$ed gave everything at the finish to pass 4 people 20 places down on normal !!!!! well it all counts for FLM . The Club did a clean sweep all the trophies to the PUB AGAIN Barnet & District AC, Riverside Runners 33:00
kiki.d Last ran this 2 years ago. Would like to do better this time and get Striders ladies off the bottom of the league. Oh well, same time but ladies were third. Third lady home in 15th (same as last time) so at least I'm consistent!! Legs very sore today as it was a tough muddy race. Saffron Striders RC 37:10 38:00 38:00 56.96
Mud Rocs Approximate time based on Danny's estimated time, started too fast but slowed to recover for the long run in into a headwind , worked well as picked up a couple of places on the run in. Ford was flowing, atmosphere was good with large number of runners and some spectator support. Tea and cake rounded off a good morning. Holcombe Harriers 29:30 32:25 59.77
Vicksta Race was good fun, I think I have gained confidence with my footing. HRM fell off within 5 mins and had to carry it the rest of the way which was a bit of a nuisance. Came 8th, so better position than at Stortford. Pleased with that. Unfortunately we didn't get a team out again, it was only me and Karen there. Still, we ladies finished in third place in the overall competition. Harlow RC 36:40 56.71
Vindicator Finished 54th and totally knackered. The last mile across an undulating muddly field in to a horrible headwind completely finished me off. I did go off to fast and suffered on a long up hill drag mile 2-3 that I never really recovered from. A nice course though. Harlow RC 34:09 53.84
