AlanO Poor performance as expected. In a race with Clare T until half way at which point she left me for dust. No speed or speed endurance in my legs at the moment. bedlam_g I’m in good shape, its supposed to be fast and my 5 mile PB was set on a hilly course after a spell out with injury. ****Update******* Pushed hard, maybe a little too hard into the strong wind and did my best to stay close to May and one of my club-mates until the turn. Then for some strange reason I struggled with the wind at my back and had a really poor mile 3 and 4, then recovered for a strong mile 5. I also did the 2nd half with pretty bad blisters on each foot which I don’t think affected my pace made things rather painful and I think means I need new racing shoes. ClaireT Another race another silly sprint finish. Must stop doing that and learn to pick my pace up throughout the race. Slipped in as 3rd lady overall, a loooong way behind May in 2nd (well done). ian9657 A new distance for me so yet another PB Guaranteed . UPDATE: Better than I had hoped for, conditions not great, stuck in behind Sarah D and hoped that she would pull me around. She seemed to increase her pace at the half way stage, whilst I tired a little but had a decent last mile making loads of ground on Stewart Collins the Bella Harrier, who beat me @ the Jack Crawford and Nigel Barge in front of me. May Never ran this before..would like to get sub 30 mns...all dependant on course conditions: ).update...enjoyed the race from the start conditions not that great due to wind...ran strong and was rewarded by a PB....2nd lady...thanks to all for their words of encouragement b4 race???????
