blue (pete) approx garmin time. What a mare! Had a bad cough last week which has now developed into a bit of an issue. Set of smartly (too smartly) and by the bottom of Kendrick Hill wanted to go home! Met one shirt wearing Fetchy on run up to Prospect Park (He is in Berkshire BBC photo of camel(!) crossing finishing line around 2.18 gun time - we commented on the lack of fetchy shirts. So pleased to get to end.

boyband6666 Really good course, which I did last year (and didn't enjoy, having prepared incorrectly), so came back determined to beat 1.30 (last year I fell short).

In the end I felt good all the way round, and didn't just beat it, I dominated it! Long Eaton Running Club, White Lightening Harriers, McCarkiss Endurance Project 1:09:51 1:26:53 1:29:59 1:26:53 66.73
Boycie Strong race. Start delayed by 20 mins and felt like I needed the loo as soon as we got going. Consequently v. Steady for four miles until the feeling passed. Then a downhill around 5 miles picked the pace up and from then on was averaging around 5.45s apart from one mile with a hill in it which was 6.15. First 5k 18.55 last 10m 58.37!!! Cormorant Proof of something you don't want to know - that you can run a half marathon on hardly any training. Ran all this with Gray, who was checking out by about mile 10 but we encouraged each other along and I held up his arm as we crossed the finishing line in the Madejski (he couldn't raise his arm by himself by that point), not a dry eye in the house. Dee VanCity My plan was to run this slower than marathon pace for the first half or so, then pick up to marathon pace. I followed the plan for the first three miles, then got bored of running so slow. I then picked up to marathon pace for the next several miles and then picked it up even more for the last three miles. I had fun, smiling all the way. Great race! gray Maybe not my finest hour (or 2hrs 8 mins & 14 secs come to that). Feet seemed to be stuck to the tarmac for the last four miles or so but nevertheless kept 'running' the whole way. Seem to remember encouragement from my carer 'Cormorant' - wish I could remember a single word....good to finish in the Mad Stad once again and looking forward to a far more dignified (!) visit for the London Irish - Exeter St Patrick's day guinness-fest this Saturday. mystique100 Preparation was going well, but 3 weeks before the even I injured my Achilles tendon. It healed up just in time for the race, but the ankle brace I wore as a precaution caused soreness under the arch of my foot half way through the race so i had to slow down. :-(

Reasonably happy with the time considering I was running in paid for 1/2 the race. This is the 3rd time something bad has happened in this even over the years preventing me from imporoving my PB ;-( Unaffiliated 1:40:04 2:05:25 1:55:00 2:05:25 46.83

ponyhead Good weather conditions on the whole, bit warmer than expected, shouldn't have worn a base layer. Big nasty blood blister on my right foot made miles 7 onwards uncomfortable, so I'm pleased with the time - surprised I couldnrun Reading faster than Cardiff whichnis pancake-flat. (Though the mass start congestion, lack of any visible mile markers to pace against and general distance cock-up make it hard to judge Cardiff 2010 in any sensible light.)

Still get to the end of halves and think, Unaffiliated 1:48:34 1:48:34 1:53:30 1:48:34 55.49

Zehnderboy Enjoyed the race, lots of people and start was a bit congested. Don't know why I was passing White & Green bibs when I started at the front of the blue. Hills are not too bad to cope with but if you're under done in training (like I was) then they will bite. I struggled from about 8 miles but tried to keep up as good a tempo as I could manage.
Finish in the stadium was excellent, a great roar as you enter the stadium really spurs you on for the last 100 or so metres Eastbourne Rovers 1:39:26 1:41:14 1:50:00 1:42:59 58.50
