Sunbed Athlete My 100th race since taking it running seriously & since joining Fetch.Took 3rd place & got trophy & 2 bottles of Arran beer. Good wee race.Shame only 49 people made the trip.Going by boat makes a difference to the day rather than usual car/train/bus etc etc. was in lead @ 3k then Davy Simpson of Carnegie AC appeared from nowhere to lead & eventually win the race.Was jostling with Jamie Findlay of Irvine AC for 2nd & 3rd place after Simpson overtook us.Jamie made a burst in last k to take 2nd place.He smashed his PB by over 80 secs so cant complain about that. Good to talk to Chris Upson,Ali(1st female) & others. 3rd time ive ran this race & have now taken all podium spots.2nd in 2005,1st in 2006 & now 3rd in 2009.
