Ally2 have a pass out for rematch with gordo and mark powell also doing it. could be tasty. an assault on my 10k pb- aim for 31:20 (try maintain 75sec laps). knew that the wind would be a factor and it proved as I missed my PB by 1 second (even with a 69 last lap); the wind on the back straight was pretty bad, However disappointing it is not to improve on last years time it was one hell of a race. I was in the lead group of me, gordon, mark and nathaniel williams for first 12 laps until williams dropped out. then kept with gordon and lee for next 6 laps at which stage I felt good and the fact that the laps were slipping to 78/79secs, I went to the front to split us up. (also I know Gordon has a better sprint finish than me so tried to break him). I upped the ante to 76sec laps and managed to drop mark on lap 23 and with the bell sounding gordon and I were level. Then he left me. I did as much as I could do but ended 2nd 2secs behind him. Satisfied in a great race. With less wind I know a 31:20 is in me. Have to wait for next year. (Postscript. I ran with no watch so could I have made the 1 sec up- who knows. Also Gordon stopped his watch at 31:43 but given 31:45 so was I 31:45?. I will beat him one day and he knows it will happen soon...)
