CookPassBabtridge Hot night with little breeze, started a bit quick and suffered a bit for it, ran with Pete Talents until he dropped me with a coupole of miles to go, couldn't pull it back and just missed out on a sub-55 Notts AC 52:56 55:03 55:03 79.62
Greenman No prediction time-wise other than to say a PB is out of the question. Recent form suggests about 66mins, just have to see on the night.
UPDATE: One of my worst runs - over 68 mins. I couldn't run at the pace I wanted because I felt like I wasn't getting enough air and my chest was tight. No idea why, late start perhaps? 10K on Sun will confirm if there's something more to it i.e. chest infection or if it was a one-off. By the way Fetch, if the car was a silver Clio, it was me you saw exiting the car park!! Grantham Running club 1:00:15 1:02:42 1:08:25 66.61

CC2 Speedy Goth Just back from drinking and partying holiday on tuesday, so am happy with this. I only did it because it's in the Grand Prix. Notts AC, VEGAN RUNNERS UK, Midland Masters A C 1:05:49 1:12:48 1:14:30 1:14:22 65.89
fetcheveryone Well, I'm being optimistic about my prediction here - got 1:19:06 to beat I think, and I've felt reasonably comfortable doing 5 miles at about 8:05 pace in training, so if I can get some long runs in to accompany the speed work I've been doing, then this should be a PB. UPDATE: I've had over a week out, lost half a stone, and still have a wee sore throat, so I'm probably not betting material. UPDATE 2: Feeling a bit more cocky after a good tempo run last night - might just scrape a small one! RACE REPORT: It wasn't to be, I'm afraid. Started too fast, with a 7.35 and a 7.39, and just couldn't hold on. The last four miles were all >8, and hurt like hell. BUT thanks to our club sec Ash, I'm not going to be downhearted. I've managed to produce more-or-less the same results as last year - I just need to look at my training, and tinker with things, or maybe just work a bit harder, or smarter. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that I was lacking in long runs. Hopefully this will now be a foundation to help me get my 10k and 5 mile PBs later this month. Great to meet rollerman, IanM and Heidi, who's timing with the Tutti Fruttis was impeccable. Also waved at another Fetchie driving away in the car park - who was that? rollerman Really want to get below the 80 minute mark for this, regularly train at 8 min miles so fitness aboud should be o.k.
Will update nearer the time, so dont bet yet!
Well thanks for the bets! that will keep me going. As my best is 83 minutes something, I should easily beat that....
Did 8.5 miles last night at 8min/miles so looking good.
My race number is 77, so i am aiming for yes,you guesed it 77 minutes?

SORY SORRY SORRY SORRY. I cant say it enough, I was crap no excusses I was just crap.
