Gobi Felt good when I got this morning and even had toast for breakfast as I wanted pre race food not hard training run food. I was also lighter than usual and this was a real mental boost. 71.7kgs

NHTT 1st in 16.16
Lap 1 6.50 lap 2 6.53
Half way split 8.03

Ran hard from the start with Mikey and Mattk. After 1 km MattK kicked past and I went with him, until 4km we ran basically shoulder to shoulder but up the climb I managed to get a gap and pushed on to win by 6 seconds. Tough workout and I paid near the end but happy with the PB as I was beginning to wonder if I could run that fast again.

Rach E Controlled run to test out knee post bike crash. Easy first lap (6:45m/m pace) and slightly harder second lap (6:15m/m) pace. Picked up to normal 5k pace (5:45m/m) pace in last 250m. Verdict: 6:45 pace = fine; 6:15 pace = painful but runnable; 5:45 pace = bloody sore. Plan for XC tomorrow = 5:45m/m pace. Verdict = Deep Heat.
