harrump Chip time.Fourth attempt and 16 minutes faster than last year.Weather kinder this year and the hills apart from the one that goes to Tiptoe seemed more manageable.Picture and details also taken at finish line for Lymington Times! New Forest Runners 1:32:32 1:37:23 1:38:52 58.96

Caterpillar Don't bet on me for a PB in this in 2007. My Half Mara PB is from this race in 2005. It was extremely hot then, so conditions look better this year, but I'm not as quick.

Race Report: Well I was very pleased with that. Pleased I told you not to bet on me, too. I am not as quick this year, but haven't really put in any serious mileage, so have no right to expect to be very fast. The weather was lovely except for a gruesome headwind pretty much for the last five miles. I was out to a party until 1.30am, so knackered, too. I'm particularly thrilled with the first eight miles, as you can see from these miles times:

6:52
6:59
6:48
6:50 (hill!)
6:49
6:58
7:06 (downhill)
6:47
7:47 (nasty hill)
7:07 (still going up)
7:28 (vicious headwind)
7:59 (oops the wheels have come off)
8:01 (why is it still uphill AND into a wind?)
last 192.5 yards - 51 seconds.

A good result I think. Was well inside PB time at 8 miles. Note to self: must work on the stamina, not go to parties the night before, and not skip crucial drinks stations. Unaffiliated 1:28:56 1:34:25 1:34:00 1:34:25 68.23
dave the flower It just didn't happen for me! Not helped by attending a booze fuelled wedding on Friday. The hills were hillier than I remember and the flat bits few and far between. New Forest Runners 1:44:54 1:47:56 1:47:00 1:53:32 52.67

blue (pete) Was entered for the full marathon but lack of training has forced me to change to the half (no point entering a race that I probably wont finish). After today's O2O 10k I'm now looking forward to this. See you there.

Very pleased with time on this HILLY, yes HILLY (as far as I'm concerned). Good to meet A65. Unaffiliated 1:49:12 1:49:12 2:00:00 1:57:23 51.74
Torbay Worth a bet. Hope to pb this by 40 mins. Thankyou for the thousands of bets it will inspire me to run well. I need some confidence building after a horrible hip injury
Thanks for betting - I hope I was worth it! This was the best race ever. I didn't even notice the hills. Started off really slowly right at the back gradually working my way up through other runners a real psychological boost. I was strong to the end and wished this had been a twenty mile race. I have been badly injured for five months and will never take my body for granted again. It was nice to meet caterpillar and Siamese pete and having read his profile he is an inspiration to us all. Would love to do this race again.
