No.8 â„¢ Unofficial time, but the strong winds scuppered the sub 60 and today was the day that I would have done it. Was in good shape and worked with Marts up until halfway, going through at almost bang on 30 mins. Had been using people all the way until then, tucking in behind them where ever possible.
Got isolated at 6 and struggled in the open against the wind and couldn't keep with Marts or find a group to work off. The last 3 miles was me against the elements and the elements won. Big up to the Werrington supporters headed up by Frizzle and nice to put a face to a name in Old Man. Now off to find another flat 10 miler in the new year so I can get this albatross from around my neck! Unaffiliated 57:19 1:01:00 59:30 1:01:03 72.15

Greenman Wot no T Shirt? Bit disappointed with the time as well-I managed 1:03 for 10 at Clowne last week and that's a harder course plus it was a Half Marathon. Grantham Running club 1:00:15 1:02:35 1:02:59 71.80

Old Man Running on my own so aiming for a V45PB and Fetch PB. Ran 87.02 at Fenland with Frizzle so should be OK, this course is as flat as Fenland - I must have run it in parts hundreds of times!! UPDATE - as others have said, windy conditions, but still did the deed and set a new V45 and Fetch PB. Good to meet No8 and also saw Lakes going to and from race HQ. Well done Marts on another PB. Time still unofficial Thomas Cook RRC, Werrington Joggers 1:23:04 1:23:07 1:25:00 1:23:07 57.11
Lakes Been getting closer to my pb recently so would like to end the season by beating it here. Fingers crossed.
Simon and Richard, see you there.
UPDATE... Well despite the blustery conditions and parts of the course reminding me why I don't do cross country I managed a pb. Gettingthere, collect your winnings. Enjoyed a chat with No.8 before and after the race. Also enjoyed the company of my chums from Bedford Harriers many of whom also ran pbs.
