No.8 ™ Must've been right behind Chaz?

All things considered I am pleased with the result. A minute outside a PB time, with the injury, no proper training for 2 weeks and even worse no intervals since 10th August.

The race itself was good, chip timed, good course, a medal and the results on big screen as soon as you cross the line, so you know your official time and position instantly (unless you're a donut like me and forget to look at your position). There was even energy drink and fruit at the finish. Unaffiliated 17:11 17:54 18:53 69.15
Chaz Everything seems to be going well at the moment, so I am confident of running a PB on this fast course. I have bet on myself for extra incentive. It may be a close call though...
Apologies to those who bet, didnt quite put in fast enough splits in km3 and km4. I am happy with the time as it was good racing and felt fast. 3m37s, 3m41s, 3m47s, 3m50s, 3m46s Wootton Road Runners 17:48 18:44 18:33 18:44 68.81
Slow Going A personal worst over 5k, but great fun all the same. Would have been faster if I didn't have to stop + be sick at 3.7k. Note to self: Do not eat a chilli as a pre race meal. Good to see and run with Mr BDR for a bit.

This is a classy event - good course, good organisation, good medal. I might do the entire series next year.

For some reason, my garmin (which ran out of batteries in the closing 400m) recorded my time at 14:58 - oh I wish (sigh) UKnetrunner 19:18 20:55 22:13 58.77
Mr BDR Well, I didn't manage to break 21mins :-( and quite a way off my PB. My legs just felt really heavy until about half way, and then I just felt knackered all over! I did get to meet and run with Slowgoing for a while, but had no breath to say Milton Keynes AC, Team Milton Keynes 19:54 20:35 21:00 21:13 60.63
SparkyMark This will be my first 5k, so will be a guarenteed PB. Flat course and traffic free. See what Speed training has been able to do :o/ ... First challenge was to find a parking space, complete free for all! Thankfully have small car so managed to squeeze passed bollards and park on the grass. Thought I started ok and GARMIN said I was doing 3:45 pace so well on target ... until I got to k marker 4:33 --- grrrr!! so picked up the pace, though for some reason split was the same. A few ups and downs, and changes of direction, and I began to flag - lack of miles showing. lost it in 3-4k. Picked up from 4, and the downhill finish was good. Also thanks to the guy on the PA at the finish, and the sound of fast closing runner, found new life in my legs, and made sure he was not coming passed! Only just managed to slow and stop before bursting through the funnel tape for the sharp turn left. Shake of the hand for the guy I raced to the line with. Looking forward to seeing photo! so, not exactly what I wanted, but a marker for the next one. Alchester RC (Bicester) 20:42 23:34 23:00 23:34 57.42
Stotty Eryri Harriers 21:21 22:35 22:45 23:34 58.28
Lakes Found this really tough for some reason. Felt bad at the same point that Slowgoing did only a few minutes later. The other difference was that I was having a heart attack as opposed to honking up my pre-race meal. (I nearly did that at the end.) 49 secs off pb but best 5k this year by56 secs.
