Snapstinget Aiming at PMP, which should be 5.41 per k for a 4 hour marathon. I tried to be clever by starting with the sub 2 hour pace group (fartholders), who advertised that they'd be doing 5.41. Absolutely beyond belief - they pushed out the first two k at 5:15 pace. Talk about irresponsible. So I left them to it.
The course is very twisty, lots of corners you compete to get round. But there are drinks stations everywhere. There must have been about one per mile! Everyone in long lycra tights and Craft jackets despite the blazing sunshine and 5 - 10 degree temperature. Like last Sunday's half really. At the finish: hot chocolate, buns, energy bars, fruit, water, energy drink ... not bad for 15 quid. Chip timing but no split mats. My time above is my Polar time. I wasn't really very accurate - my garmin time was 3 sconds slower! Don't know my offical chip time yet either. (Now amended - official time was 2 secs faster than Polar time, 5 secs fastert than Garmin)
Fairly pleased by today. Rested and relaxed I will try to start more sensibly at Lochaber. My Unaffiliated 1:56:06 1:57:57 1:57:57 56.57
