april_runner Training has gone very well and I am much fitter and faster (and 10lbs lighter) than I was in April. Conditions permitting, got to be a PB! Cambridge & Coleridge AC 3:03:05 3:35:13 3:40:00 3:35:13 62.25
Dipper PREDICTION: A Half Marathon in May suggests that I could theoretically achieve 3 hours 18 mins. Yeah right. A conservatively-paced 22 mile run (including 1800 foot of ascent) 13 days before the race suggested a likely finish time of 3 hours 53 mins. Come race day I'd hope to get 3:40 but wouldn't be surprised if I was ten minutes either side of that target.
OUTCOME: A PB by 36 minutes, should be very pleased. Really think that I should have had a few faster miles though and should have gotten under 3:45. Unaffiliated 3:27:23 3:52:52 3:40:00 3:52:52 52.21
Drifter Not very happy with this one, the headwind did for me, really suffered around 18 - 20 miles then actually improved once I had got some water down. Driffield Striders 2:59:31 3:18:00 3:00:00 3:18:00 64.85
DStead First Marathon. Stuck my neck out on the predicted time. Training has been reasonable but my total mileage is probably a little short. Hopping the long runs and a good taper, Fuel up will see me through. Pudsey Pacers RC, Leeds & Bradford Triathlon Club 4:02:32 4:02:32 3:30:00 4:02:32 50.27

mikep That was tough.
OK, no big hills but there seemed to be loads of climbs and for the first 13 miles the head wind was very strong. Little to no shade and a lot of sun.
Hit the wall big time at 16 and felt I could easily stop right through to 20.
The last 2 miles (and particularly the last half) were terrible- they take you past the finish and loop back round:very cruel.
Very happy to have beaten my prediction and to have improved my PB.
Also happy that all of your bets have paid off - I've never felt so much pressure!(see blog for more) Pocklington Runners 3:21:57 3:42:59 3:45:00 3:42:59 60.57

TheAlien Training went really well until an ankle problem four weeks from race-day. It set me back a bit I think, but let's get real, this is not an all star elite runner we are talking about here. Felt really strong mentally and sufficiently in control to tough out the wind for the first 6-miles before relaxing in to the next 11. Cheers to Aly for dragging me through mile 18 - it was grim death from there on in but I kept runnig to the last despit some cramping calves.....great name for a gigging band don't you think? Cramping Calves! Album title suggestions welcome. Unaffiliated 3:41:27 3:41:27 3:45:00 3:41:27 57.51
Wicked D My Official Full Mara PB (4hrs 49mins) was set at Mabo last year, My unofficial Mara PB (4hrs 32mins) was set at Skeg to Boston Sea Bank Mara (Multi Terrain)10th June 07, with all the above said I'll leave my predicition time as it is as i have set myself some targets within this Full Mara, (1) Beat last years time (2) Beat Sea Bank Mara time (3) Get under 4hours.

****UPDATE RESULT**** just received text message from raceahead.net (i like that new service) that my chip time today was 4hrs 24mins 42 secs, if you read the above i managed to achieve 2 of my targets and i feel if i'd been able to train this week i may have got under 4hours but i suffered sever cramp during the last 5 miles BUT I'm still a VERY HAPPY CHAPPY as i know I'm not far from being able to get under 4hours if i get my Mara race prep right. All those who bet on me enjoy the points and you ALL help spur me on and my bad back ache wasnt a problem today just glad I didn't have to carry or climb over anything in this event Unaffiliated 3:43:51 4:24:42 4:30:00 4:24:42 48.51
Yorky had to pull out at about 14 miles feeling crap Unaffiliated 4:21:59
