Boab PB course for me, but that won't happen this year, been running shite and I may run Prestonpans half marathon in the morning at mara pace, so don't waste your credits ** UPDATE: didn't run the half in the morning. Forgot how tough this 10k is, 17:04 at 5K and felt good, then the climb for 1.5 miles took it right out the legs (some hill training is require in the winter me thinks), last 1.5K is mostly downhill but by that time I was spent, 18:01 for second half. Not the best split, but on a flat course, no marathon training (60 odd miles in the legs this week before the race) and the weather being a little kinder (it was quite windy) there is at least 30 seconds in there to come yet. Maybe I will run a fast 10K later in the year, restore my belief!!!! 7th out of 472 Unaffiliated 32:25 34:17 35:30 35:05 75.94
Jaffers Linlithgow 10k. Not a great performance, but the big picture is: recovering from last week's knockout flu; no sleep last night (thanks Archie & Harry); not enough miles in last 3 weeks (holiday & flu). So not the best preparation and the result was my worst time in two years. Disappointed with the situation, but can understand the factors, so not too downhearted. But lots of hard work required to do myself some justice perhaps before Christmas or in the New Year. And it was a hilly course, which hurt!!! Avg hr was up there 176 and a new Max 193!!! So clearly working quite hard. Unaffiliated 35:44 40:40 40:40 65.78
Baza Probably be slightly slower than usual pace due to running East Neuk 10K in the morning. Wouldn't waste bets here.*UPDATE* Not bad prediction, only out by 36 seconds. Started resonably well, even remembered the couple of hills at the start. Legs felt sore round the back of the loch in the 2nd half and come 7K and the hill I had forgot about they really tightened up, kept going and with a decent downhill finish I managed 40:24. Good race and well organised by all accounts. Nice long sleeved T-Shirt for winter training too...lol Carnegie Harriers 36:28 36:54 41:00 40:24 65.37

Debstir Never run this before so didn't know quite what to expect. My heart wasn't in it from the start, and I found it really tough. Even on the flat bits I felt quite drained. I don't quite know why I was feeling like this today, although my time was quite average - thought it would have been a good bit slower with how I felt. Oh well, try again another day!
