Non-runner Will I recover in time from pulled calf (Sun 9 Nov) and flickering sciatic nerve? Great timing eh. Well the good news is, no recurrence of injury, the bad news is 4 minutes slower than last year! I thought this was very hard. Went out too fast (trying to keep up with NSC and her pacemaker!) then blew up totally at the 5k point. philbo Very happy with another Pb , arrived with little time to spare due to road conditions which were horrific for the first few miles , queued for the loo then straight on the start line no time to warm up so i wasn't in the best frame of mind when we set out , started out at a steady pace picked a guy in front and stayed with him till i warmed up then picked the pace up a bit and stayed with it for the rest of the race, very happy how the race went especially with the rush before hand . Robsta What a day! Spent the last 3 weeks nursing a achilles strain, having run (jogged) 3 times in that time on grass, this followed interupted training by shin splints on same leg. Woke up 6 am to snow and ice in Durham with rubbish driving conditions most of the way which made me a little late, just the minimal tme to get Nell McAndrew warmed up and off we went. However, it was great conditions for the race, winter sunshine and I managed a PB, over the moon, but still chasing sub 45 which is now in my sights. Lethargic Was expecting a good PB at this race, allmy training geared towards this, and ran my 3rd fastest time of the year. Not at the races at all. But a bad race and still ran a decent time, last year would have given my right arm for this time,so should not be to downhearted, cant get pb in all races.
