DrDan Before: REALLY looking forward to this one ... hope I can stay healthy and give sub-50 a serious shot.

After: I still can't believe the time ... 2 weeks off with ITBS which still hadn't cleared up ... I had almost kissed goodbye to a sub-50 ... in fact I considered not running ... but I decided to apply a home-made version of the Hyde Park Harriers 39:55 47:54 48:59 47:54 58.77

Lethargic Was expecting a good PB at this race, allmy training geared towards this, and ran my 3rd fastest time of the year. Not at the races at all. But a bad race and still ran a decent time, last year would have given my right arm for this time,so should not be to downhearted, cant get pb in all races.

Good quality field, maybe the course not as flat as I thought, cold too! To event and a good charity. Long Eaton Running Club 32:13 33:23 31:59 33:36 80.25

Non-runner Will I recover in time from pulled calf (Sun 9 Nov) and flickering sciatic nerve? Great timing eh. Well the good news is, no recurrence of injury, the bad news is 4 minutes slower than last year! I thought this was very hard. Went out too fast (trying to keep up with NSC and her pacemaker!) then blew up totally at the 5k point. Pleased to get home in one piece though and hoping NSC, who was well in front of me, made the PB. FELL PONIES 48:12 54:56 52:00 56:17 59.49

philbo Very happy with another Pb , arrived with little time to spare due to road conditions which were horrific for the first few miles , queued for the loo then straight on the start line no time to warm up so i wasn't in the best frame of mind when we set out , started out at a steady pace picked a guy in front and stayed with him till i warmed up then picked the pace up a bit and stayed with it for the rest of the race, very happy how the race went especially with the rush before hand . Robsta What a day! Spent the last 3 weeks nursing a achilles strain, having run (jogged) 3 times in that time on grass, this followed interupted training by shin splints on same leg. Woke up 6 am to snow and ice in Durham with rubbish driving conditions most of the way which made me a little late, just the minimal tme to get Nell McAndrew warmed up and off we went. However, it was great conditions for the race, winter sunshine and I managed a PB, over the moon, but still chasing sub 45 which is now in my sights. SimonF My yearly attempt at sub 40 on the flattest course around ******* Perfect conditions, but after a quick first 5k (out in 20:08), I fell apart on the way back. The sniffles then came out properly by the afternoon into a full blown cold - so I will just write this one off again. Cumberland Fell Runners, Horsforth Fellandale Club 40:25 41:08 39:59 41:08 68.97
