bushbaby Bad start - queuing for loo with 10 mins to go so started quite far back of pack, weaved around for first 1.5k then got into a decent stride. Asthma pretty bad for last 1k, sounded like Darth Vader at the end... Pudsey Pacers RC 40:25 42:02 42:02 66.74

mawngyguy First 10k race. Over the moon to finish. Was still smoking.

Lowbo Haven't done this one since i was a nipper! I remember it as being very fast, hence my prediction...just got to keep out of trouble at the start. I hear its got very popular in the last few years.
Was going okay until 2k out when i pulled a muscle in my thigh. can't be too disappointed with time considering the injury, but now concerned that i'll have to rest a few weeks to clear up the muscle and my knee. Wakefield District Harriers & AC 36:40 36:40 35:00 37:32 70.37

Slider45 Very happy with my time (chip time given) - indicates that the training I'm doing is heading in the right direction. Had a good run although I was a little concerned that I went off a bit fast. Conditions were fine and it was well organised as usual. The changes to the start and midway I think were an improvement. Thanks again to everyone who bet on me - having that support is fantastic. Valley Striders AC 34:17 36:09 36:59 36:09 73.14

SimonF Now have 7 10k's under 41 minutes and none under 40 - could this be the one?********Shocking. Sorry everyone who bet on me. Thought I had got over my cold, but after about 3k I just started feeling worse and worse and getting slower and slower. Spent the last 3K running along in the gutter at half marathon pace getting overtaken with legs of lead. Disappointing day, but great organisation and good new course. My sub 40 is still out there somewhere. Cumberland Fell Runners, Horsforth Fellandale Club 40:25 40:47 39:59 41:29 67.09
roadrunner1 First road race back since prolapsed disc back in May. Was expecting about 40 mins, did 37.29 - surprised myself. Loved the new start -excellent course and org. Telford AC, Whitchurch Whippets 34:39 36:10 40:00 37:29 73.09
AddledAdder A personal worst - but I'm not too upset with that due to the injuries and illnesses. I knew early on I was outside any of my target times and that I should just hang on in there and try and enjoy it. Oh and partying past midnight at the better half's 40th birthday party probably wasn't ideal prep. Course is much better now there isn't a 90 degree right hand bend 100m from the start, but it is narrow at the start (and end!). Will be back next year as a vet... Northern Exile Think I did this around 44.30 last year (will have to check), so I think a minute off is a reasonable target.

It's a PB for me, 24 seconds outside my estimate but a good 30 seconds off my previous best. Hopefully all those people who bet on me are pleased ....

Yorkshire Pie I didn't feel like my legs had recovered properly from Amsterdam and New York so just wanted to stay under 50 minutes, but after a relatively cautious start I felt pretty good so started picking the speed up a bit and got a lot closer to my PB than I'd expected for this one. DaveM1962 Hoping for a PB, however may be difficult due to number of runners?

Prediction true. Although this is a good flat course, the first 5k invovled dancing around other runners. I will enter again though, and maybe start a little further forward.

Non-runner What a great race! Was a bit dubious after reading reports of the chaos in previous years but just loved it - seemed very well-organised to me and as I normally run off-road it was a delight to be on a flat, even surface. If I'd tied my shoelaces properly and not had to stop may have made a sub-52, who knows? Same comment as others about which pens to go in - I went in the sub-60 and spent the whole race passing people which was a novelty for me, usually at the back on the trails and fells, but rather than being a problem it kept me interested and gave me confidence. Back next year, hopefully sub-50 if I train hard! Stats: 47/188 category; 477/1535 all females (chip time). Unaffiliated 48:12 52:03 55:00 52:03 62.68

Lapsed Athlete Good start, first 2k went well then the second 2k got better but between 4 and 5 leading to the Abbey I struggled a little. Second wind on the way back until just after 7k when as my blog testifies I needed a kick up the backside from NSC to keep me on track. It was all worth it to run through that line knowing I was near the hours if not under it and now I've seen the results I'm over the moon as they say. Unaffiliated 55:35 59:58 59:59 59:58 48.32
