Grid Official time, which was identical to my Garmin time (over 10.2K, just like last year). Good race. The start seemed a little better organised this year, and there was an abundance of water available. Conditions were good, a little on the warm and still side but it was cloudy enough. Performance was good, an improvement on my Mersey Tunnel 10K time from the end on May. Had a bit of surplus energy in the tank in the last 1K, but I needed it to get up Albion Street. I could feel my niggly right calf throughout, but it amazingly it coped just fine. Bournville Harriers 45:33 52:36 1:05:00 1:05:07 40.56
pafa Who said it was flat... Nice race with lots of support around the course. a few bottle necks which ended up at walking pack but a nice morning out. Lichfield RC 45:51 45:51 45:00 47:09 59.03
Rippers Something of a disaster, road to the carpark where I have parked last 2 years was closed, ended up parking miles away & only got to start area 10 min before start, cdnt get to the loo & started with @6000 people in front of me & never really got going after that, I'll learn from it Unaffiliated 45:55 47:49 45:30 49:07 59.98
Keefley Slightly disappointed not to break the hour barrier, but the congested start and sunny weather didn't suit me. My first race though, so VERY exciting. Now I am a runner! Unaffiliated 46:10 48:25 1:00:00 1:01:00 44.91

mawngyguy Planning to run with OH and enjoy the occasion. Expecting a crowded experience. Update: Had a great run, learned a lot about starting sedately and ambling along, instead of starting too fast and struggling over the distance. Have got new confidence about the possibility of a HM in the near future. OH also enjoyed it and beat me by a second. ;-) Unaffiliated 52:54 57:22 1:06:00 1:10:44 42.00

MazH Really pleased with my performance, warm throughout and sunny at times. Definitely some tough inclines especially in the last 2km or so....

no logic to the green/red numbers my red area was pretty mixed up colours. Some differentiation times for walkers and runners would be good for future races, and i say that speaking as a plodder. Or at least a rule for walkers to keep to the left unless overtaking or something. I was dodging people constantly. (a novelty to be overtaking anyone!!)

Plenty water stations en route. Kinda disorganised finish area as well..... long walk/queue with no funnels as such thru to Square where more water, goodie bag (not much in it TBH), there were bisuits and bottles of gatorade, nice tshirt (no technical but nice anyway)..... NO MEDAL??? bummer!!

PB for me which i'm pleased with considering warm day and tough course, not a fun run in my opinion - not if you want to run all of it anyway.

Oh yeah, and distinct lack of cameraderie which really surprised me considering the nature of the event. Unaffiliated 55:50 1:10:18 1:12:00 1:10:18 42.88

TooLilac Great race. i only I'd done more consistent training...
*Update: felt really good a ran strongly. would definitely have been a pb if not for dodging all the walkers. think the organisers need to look at the start pen system - absolutely chaos all the way round which spoilt it a bit. Excellent fetchspotting: Pam B, Mawngyguy, one mystery fetchie elite runner with a ponytail, and another mystery fetchie with an ipod. Even spotted FlowerPower in disguise - in her club vest and bumble bee costume :) oh, and saw SODiron's OH H powering along :)* Unaffiliated 59:30 59:34 1:00:00 1:00:00 50.44
