Bignose Felt a bit under the weather, had a cold. Found the race quite easy as i had a time tape, was like running 1 mile 13 times. came in just ahead of my target time. Also met a top bloke from 216 sigs.

brotherjohn Well, a lot better than predicted! Good run today, held form well until the incline the second time around at mile 12.
A lot of runners seemed to find it quite challenging today, so happy with my time 1:20:08. 26th place, second in class, but new Saucony running shoes for first 2 in class, so no complaints:-) Dorset Doddlers 1:16:37 1:18:10 1:22:00 1:20:08 82.74

LBM I very nearly didn't run on Sunday, but decided to risk it and see how I felt. I was hit with what I think is a torn muscle in my lowewr abs/groin area which gave me a lot of pain when I tried to run in the final week before the race. I missed two training sessions before the race and decided I'd see how I felt after a warm up and two days off before making a decision. Unfortunately it was so wet and cold, I decided for the first time in a race that I wouldn't warm up, because I didn't want to be standing around for 15 mins before the race start, already soaked and cold. Many runners seemed to agree with that and stayed put in the barns until 15 mins before the race.

Having decided not to warm up I knew there was a chance I'd have to retire within a few miles if the pain recurred, which it did, but not until around 5-7 miles. I knew my end of year PB was out of the window and I very nearly retired at that point due to the discomfort I was in. I nevertheless persevered (hope it wasn't a mistake) and finished the race, or should I say run, as I certainly couldn't perform at my best.

My time of 1:31:16, which although a course PB, wasn't what I was after or could realistically expect in the circumstances. My PB is 1:28:07. It's a pity I couldn't round off my year with my fastest half, but that's injuries for you. Just disappointed that I should be hit just before my target half of the year.

Well done to everyone who raced on Sunday and I hope you hit your targets! Norfolk Gazelles Running Club, Trail Running Association 1:23:50 1:28:07 1:31:16 71.39

Sarah64 This will be my first attempt at a half marathon, so really not sure what time I will finish it (if I manage to finish it). I do 10km in about 1 hour 6 minutes so I'm guessing I could take as long as 2 hours 45 minutes to complete this race. There's a 3 hour time limit on it so I HAVE to be quicker than 3 hours!!! I'll definitely be the one at the back. But I'll still be smiling. :-) Unaffiliated 2:31:10 2:31:10 2:45:00 2:31:10 46.41

true blue Rain stopped just before the start and the race conditions were almost perfect. The large puddles on the small country lanes meant everyone bottle necked in the middle of the road, but after 5 miles the field spreadout. First 10 miles felt good but last 3 were hard due to lack of endurance training, missed a PB by 25 secs, but know that with proper training should get well within it on this course.
