Dec 18 out and back old railway path fairly flat nice cafe no toilet

Out and back on the old railway line. Gradual climb for the first half, which means downhill all the way back. The wooden boardwalk can be a bit slippery when damp.

Out and back run on railway line. Easy parking on road nearby. Nice location. Road shoes fine.

Great out and back run, mainly uphill to turnaround then downhill on return.

If wet trail shoes would help, mainly hard packed trail.

Only downside was my embarrassment that all runners were tourists, will volunteer if there again.

Popular out-and-back course along the disused railway track. A bit rough in places and slippery when wet, but road shoes usually OK. Slightly uphill for the outward leg, especially the first 1km, so fast finish. Plenty of cafes, some dog-friendly

Aug 19: they are still on the 5 lap course round Fitz park; it's flat and all on tarmac so it should be quick. Lapping is a bit of an issue, the pre-run briefing is very good; obviously just a lot of hard-of-hearing folks there the same day as me.

Currently 5 (yes, 5!) flat laps of Fitz Park. Don't lose count! A bit narrow in spots, keep right and let the speedy ones nip by as they lap you! Discount/offer on breakfast and bottomless coffee in West Cafe at the end.

Out and back with nice views

Aug 2021: Back on the railway path, tarmac all the way now, very fast out and back course, and the views are even better. There are Portaloos just by the start/finish. Beware of grumpy grockles and cyclists.

Out and back on good tarmac surface. Nice views over the river.

Railway line has now been resurfaced with tarmac, and the board walk taken down and replaced with a tunnel. Gradient also reduced.
