Lisrun It was snowing when I left home and it got very dark on the on the drive down and I was beginning to think I was being a bit mad. However, when I got to Ripon the sun came out and there was no snow on the ground, it was just beautiful and fairly mild. The route overlapped at the start and finish with the 10m race that I did in the summer with the middle section being off road and down a beautiful valley with lots of bridges to cross. There was however a bit of a hill to climb at the end of the valley. I was glad I was running my mudclinger shoes as it was fairly muddy during this section. Lovely views of Ripon cathedral on the return part and we also passed two herds of deer in the early part of the race. Overall this is probably the most attractive route that I have ever done. I am sure the mile markers were inaccurate ! Very pleased with my time as it was not a flat course. I will do this again.
