Sunbed Athlete Worst run for ages & @ a really bad time aswel.Ran 75:29 & got 6th place for that & with it being the Grand Prix Finale(with double points on offer) I picked the wrong race to have a stinker.Sitting in 5th place with this the last one my hopes were to see who turned up & I knew then what I had to do to stay in contention of the prizes.Went thru halfway in 32:34 but died just after 8 miles. From there on in it was a nightmare.3 weeks after the Marathon/prob not enough rest days also could combine to the disaster I ended up with but in reality stronger/more experienced guys beat me & thats the truth. The course itself wasnt my favorite as long streches of road makes it monotinis. The hill @ 11 mile meant nothing to me by that time even the downhill was just as bad.Event was organised well but @ the moment I wont be rushing back unless its a GP race.Even then it will have to be the Double Pointer. Was in 5th for the GP before this race but with other guys ahead of me meant I slipped back 1 place to 6th overall.Gutted for that reason but still collect the 1st ever GP Team prize. RichyC Good run. Weather was fantastic if a bit warm at times....didn't think I'd be saying that! Was well on course for a pb at 10miles and thought I'd have more in the tank over the last 3m but wasn't to be. Maybe the hill at 11 took it out of me, who knows. Still, well happy with time, just outside a pb on a day I wasn't sure I'd get near it. Unaffiliated 1:18:55 1:28:51 1:29:32 64.75

Baza Never ran this before, but I've also had a weeks break since my 1:26 at Aviemore. I wouldn't waste to much bets!! *Update* Interesting race, tricky course with a few hills. Started steady having only ran twice since Aviemore and no more than 2.5mls had been done, so this was more of a long training run! Felt comfortable at half way(44mins), but then the legs went at 10mle and the hill at 11 finished me off. 3 folk passed me in the last mile and I couldn't respond. Rounded the corner to see the clock showing 1:30:19 and was slightly gutted. On reflection I have to be pleased with the time, I've now got 2 weeks full training & circuits before Glen Clova which will be my last half this year. Dvorak A PB and exceeded expectations :-) Another fine day, a little cooler and breezier than last year. Meant to go off much slower than last year and pick it up in the second half. Time at 3 miles +10s; time at halfway exactly the same (61min). But felt like I was pushing it last year, and taking it easy this. 10miles in 93:40, hill took its toll, faded a bit, last 2K a struggle but better than 06. Well organised, props to the marshals and supporters dotted about the countryside, and especially the brass band. And a reasonable return for the 4269 bet on me :-p Unaffiliated 1:53:58 2:04:44 2:06:00 2:04:44 48.69
