Fat Man Runs Just about my worst race ever - and I'm not even considering the heat.

U had rushed up to get to Hungarton after being in London on business for a few days. A mile into the race I realised the curry from the nightbefore was still lying very heavy!

After feeling OK after a couple of miles (keeping pace with John Starbuck) I just blew up walking up the first hill and most of the race after that.

Worst of all I was wearing some running socks which I had not previously work with that pair of trainers - it felt like my feet were burning.

Anyhow, I'd still do this one again because the course was beautiful and a lovely finish. Unaffiliated 57:31 1:06:04 1:06:04 45.50
Boycie A good performance from me - knocking over a minute off my PB for this distance. Tried a new tactic of taking each mile at the pace I wanted to average (6m 25) this seemed to work pretty much, accepting for mile 6 which included a bloody great hill which slowed things down a bit. Even with a 7:15 start it was still pretty warm... Unaffiliated 41:18 45:08 46:02 65.12

Firestarter At last a race I came away from feeling like I'm getting back to form!! a couple of good hills in this one, and even with a 7:15 start it was quite a warm race. A sod of a climb at 6 miles was hard work, but a good downhill finish for the last half-mile allowed me to gain a few extra places and a PB over 7 mile, so all in all a Hermitage Harriers RC 45:43 49:09 49:09 65.27
long whatton speedster Dreadfull race, very painfull achilles, had to walk some of it, had some early pace but hills soon took care of that. Hermitage Harriers RC 48:29 48:29 1:00:00 48:29 62.36

Rubberman My comeback race after Hernia op ! Went well for me, found the hill at 6 miles tough but nice downhill finish. Hermitage Harriers RC 47:40 49:20 54:00 52:57 57.59

Rich963 To say it was an evening race, it was still very hot at the (uphill) start (24c), gradually cooling to 21c. Got easier as the race went on due to the temparature coming down. Very hilly course, particularly the hill up to the 6 mile point, but fast downhill finish. Miles 6.45 6.52 7.29 7.04 6.36 7.53 6.12. 6th home for my club (my best result) - mainly due to some of the faster guys not showing up. First 7 mile race, so I guess I can claim it as a pb!
