Boycie A new pb by a massive 6 seconds :-) - a good run considering the mileage i have been doing recently and also conditions were perhaps not ideal - torential rain - although at least it was cool. Reckon there is still some improvement in me yet... Unaffiliated 28:20 30:44 30:44 68.55
Firestarter Just shy of my PB for 5 miles, (33:09), but the weather and two weeks without any training probably didn't help! Having left temperatures in the high 30's in Crete on the previous day it was a bit of a shock to be running in torrential rain. That said it was quicker than last time at ths race by over a minute so I am quite happy with my time.A good run by all our members meant that as a club our performances are improving with each outing....Well done HH. long whatton speedster The best race of the year for me, everything just felt good, could have ran a further 2 miles at that pace, dead chuffed to finally beat my nemesis in a league race, its been my target all year to catch a very talented runner. Great to pull it off at last. No real injury pain achilles felt ok, dont even feel like I ran today. To think that 3 weeks ago I thought my season was over, and was so demotivated that even a warm up run felt tedious. This race my head was in just the right place, after a Hermitage Harriers RC 29:53 29:53 33:00 29:53 71.25
Rich963 With conditions not ideal (14 degrees and heavy rain) and a load of marathon training in my legs, I wasn't confident of a particularly good run here. Having only done one 5 mile race before, and that in the winter, I didn't know what to expect. Ran with clubmates that I usually finish near and they all gradually dropped away towards the end, leaving me to finish in a PB (by 9 seconds) and renewed confidence that I have got a bit of speed in my legs! Pleased overall that I managed to run a pretty even paced run and gradually overtook people for the whole way. (7th for club, 126 out of 467) Stilton Striders RC 31:46 32:21 32:21 65.12
Rubberman Very pleased with result. My first 5 miler. Hurt all the way.
Went off too fast at start but still managed to get close to my 7mm target for a race this year. My shoes are on the washing line. Hoping to void pneumonia after thorough soaking. Hermitage Harriers RC 34:22 35:08 37:20 35:08 61.22
RunningBob 16th, 5th MV40, 467 ran.
Good course for a pb as undulating with no sharp corners or steep hills. Driving rain made it hard going in places. In better conditions might have been nearer 27:00. Wilmslow RC 26:24 27:34 27:30 27:34 80.93
