Jigs 1st race I ever did. Didn't do it last year and strangely, I missed it. Including the hill at the end!! Bringing Mrs J along who will run it for the 1st time :) - UPDATE - 3rd time in 4 years for me, each one improving. 5th overall :-) and managed to bag the 1st vet prize too (3rd vet overall) a framed race photo. A first for me was running in the lead group and having the timing car in view all the time. Last hill was a killer, as usual, and I was pipped by a younger guy. Walked back down course and cheered Mrs Jigs home :-) Unaffiliated 28:27 29:08 29:08 75.99

#runningman 🏃 This is my first race since the Blackpool Mrathon on 5th April so am not putting too much pressure on myself to PB it. Just enjoy the race and see how I feel on the day.Anything sub 35 min i'll be happy with....my PB is 33.17.
Update:
Very hilly race and I felt awful beforehand so happy with time of 34.35 as it was my first comeback race after Blackpool marathon 1 month ago. Got under 35 mins so gt the outcome I was aiming for. Unaffiliated 33:17 34:35 35:00 34:35 61.16

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) Not a PB course * UPDATE* I may have said it wasn't a PB course and it's true 'cos it's quite hilly and a bit tough but I managed a PB!! :) I set off just behind my Wonderful Husband, was great to see him in the lead pack behind the timing car, managed to catch sight of him up ahead a couple of times as they were at the crest of the hill and when they took a left turn up another hill :-) Quite a good race, I was ahead of myself at mile 3 but sadly lost that on the uneven track which we were on for approx a mile, also slowed on the final hill, my Wonderful Husband (Jigs) set a PB and finished 5th overall, he also won a prize for his category which includes free entry for next year so we will be back! :) Unaffiliated 34:03 35:54 45:00 35:54 78.44
SparkyMark I love this race. Relaxed atmosphere, a bit of fun, and its a club championship race :-) Great food and fair after too. This ironically is still my 5 mile PB course! Alchester RC (Bicester) 34:17 35:00
