Miles Monroe This will be the furthest I've run ever. I have put the miles in though over the last couple of months so here's hoping. I'd be really pleased with 2 hours 10.

Tick Tock Tim Watch Time. Very pleased with my time and more to come I think. Apart from first 3 miles where all I was able to do was keep trying to overtake, enjoyed it. Comfortable to 6 miles and felt good so pushed on. Miles 8 onwards ( against wind?) was hard. Good course, quite undulating, not bad support, good weather for running too. Chuffed to beat my Dundee time by nearly 10 mins. Still couldnt catch my wee bro 1h 33 something. 8mins 12 pace avg for me.

Now to choose next race nothing entered for yet. Unaffiliated 1:42:20 1:48:00 1:53:00 1:48:00 53.98
McNewbie My First Half - Did it faster than expected - it happens when you set easy goals ;) Really pleased with self, did it non stop. Found the hilliness awfully tough, didn't expect it to be like that. Weather was great, glad of the absent sun. z1000jeff If everything goes according to plan 1:40 is do-able. Unfortunately training recently has a habit of NOT going to plan. This race will be a stepping stone toward Loch Ness marathon .... again, and I stress, IF everything goes to plan. UPDATE: How close was that for a prediction ? I told you I could still do sub 1:40 .... thereby justifying my membership of the sub 1:40 group. Unaffiliated 1:35:33 1:39:00 1:40:00 1:39:58 62.81

RichyC Official time: 1.23.33 (132nd place). New pb by 1min 20secs. Also hit a definite 10m pb and possibly 10k too along the way. Probably set off a bit quick and with hindsight I wonder if a slower start might have left me with more in the tank in the latter stages to push on and go under 1.23. Jamis Dont bet!! Hope to get in around the 1.40 mark training has'nt been the best the last few weeks. Just hoping that just pushing myself will do it and worry about the recovery tomorrow. UD>Well the new course was a little bit hilly!! Going fine and on course for 1.40 up till 10miles and then it all went wrong, the mind said GO faster but legs said NO!!! I say it every year should train more, well there allways next year.Well done to all the Hamilton Harriers who ran today, some great times. Unaffiliated 1:32:55 1:40:48 1:40:00 1:45:15 55.39

Big C Great day, went round step for step with Jane and finished hand in hand across the line, Romantic Style, coincidentally joining the lovely Tigerlilly on her sprint finish. Nice to meet Ian & Lorraine S, kstuart (again), Happygasman, Caz, Debstir and LouLou before the race. Huge thanks to Supporting Fetchies round the course, whether running or spectating. -caz- Want to finish this without stopping, want to finally bury my hoodoo with this race. 3rd time lucky

UPDATE - I done, yip I went the whole way without quitting/stopping, with the exception of taking on gel/water in Bellahouston Park and heading in towards Nitshill/Pollockshaws. Totally pleased even though I missed my prediction by 19 seconds, if only I hadn't walked thru one of the water stns, never mind best 1/2 marathon time since Alloa back in 2001 Unaffiliated 1:46:33 2:00:19 2:00:00 2:00:19 48.33

Rach E Sub 80 come hell or high water. ***UPDATE*** I was running well for 9 miles but was hit with crippling stomach pains which meant a run/walk strategy to the end (and a stretcher at the finish line!). In reality it probably cost me 90-120 seconds. I am pleased to run how I did though and, despite the agony, didn't feel the loss of strength to the end I've felt in previous half marathons. Target pace was av 6:06 pace. I averaged 6:13m/m pace today which, given the last four miles, is good enough for me :o) Bring on Toronto :o) Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, Team Kennet, Newbury Velo 1:20:28 1:20:56 1:19:59 1:22:05 78.57

rleyton Watch time, but pleased as punch to have gone safely under 01:40 (last year I was 01:53!), and pushed my PB nicely. Changes to the course not so great (very hilly to start with), but my splits were looking very good indeed, but started to drop the pace a little through Pollok Park (doesn't everybody?), but had enough in the bag to get in. iceblue The first four miles went okay at target half pace, but legs felt heavy and once I hit the hills in the first park my pace dropped away and I couldn't get it back. Gave up on any possible pb attempt and settled on getting round, but it was hard work. Not too disappointed in the circumstances to get round under 2 hours. kenster Didn't feel I ran well and tired the last 5 miles, was able to manage a sprint finish though,so now I think I didn't try hard enough during the race.Good to meet fellow fetchies at the start and at the finish but had a nightmare trying to find iceblue at the finish for the drive home! Sunbed Athlete New PB by 3 secs.Well chuffed considering stomach bug floored me @ start of week.Ran a steady pace throughout the race.Had an a***hole of a guy who stuck right behind me right up to the 10 mile mark.He clipped my heels twice, although he said sorry it PISSED me off as he knew what he was doing.Upted the pace after going through 10 miles in 55 mins which opened up a gap.The other guy that was behind me didnt clip my heels but still stayed tucked in behind me had the adasity of asking me to pace him @ Loch Ness Marathon in 3 weeks time.F***ing cheek of him.
Back to the race.Throughly enjoyed it.Got Elite entry again.Less pressure of getting to the start then the after race buffet is a great welcome after knocking your pan in. Cambuslang Harriers, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 1:08:56 1:12:05 1:12:05 81.49
Gobi Will be running hard but is all part of the big picture so no taper and a hard 5km the day before.

Went to plan
28.19 at 5 miles
56.20 at 10 miles

Ran with Scobos from RW for 5 miles. When he announced he did not feel up for it and I just let loose and moved through the field. Only bad moment around 11 miles when I tangled with a safety rope and had to stop and untangle myself.

Baza No predictions please, I don't think I've ran over 10 mile since the Dunfermline Half. Just using this as a long run. Probably be happy to be around 1:40/1:45 *UPDATE* Oh by god, where did that come from! 10th fastest Half I've ran and I'll rephrase what I've said above. I've not ran over 7 mile since Dunfermline, just checked all my logs. Felt great even at 8/9 mile which was my worry. Splits even look good :-) Good to see a few fetchies at the finish, well done Tigger, Sparky57 & IanS plus all others on their runs today. Oh the Champers was good tonight... SueW Wouldn't bet as I never respond well to bets! I'm a late entry for this. The legs feel very slow tho!
Rough idea of time as I mal functioned and not teh watch! I didn't start my garmin until I was on teh Kingston Bridge. I enjoyed teh run and felt strong throughout. Last 2 miles were sub 8 minute miles which pleased me. Not sure teh race route matched teh description or teh map tho.

RicC Not going to be a PB. Bad training month in August and intentionally ramping up pre-marathon miles a little too quickly to get them in before going on holiday.
***POST RACE UPDATE***
Didn't expect a great time due to training and boozing but pleasantly surprised. clairevmc Delighted with my time, a PB by over 2 mins. Awful first mile which was pretty much vertical up St Vincent Street. Took a few miles to settle in to my pace but was feeling good by half way. Went through 9 miles in under an hour (59.40) so knew I was on for a good time if I didn't slow. Picked up the pace at mile 10 and just flew home. Couldn't see mile marker 13 so only managed to start my sprint finish once I saw the finish line itself but really pleased. Ran from about mile 2 with a bleeding toe (that's what I get for racing with false toenails glued on to cover marathon damage and one of them had come loose!) and my lovely silver DS Racers now look awful. Fingers crossed the training will go smoothly. **UPDATE** I’m very pleased with today’s performance in the GSR. 1st couple of miles were a little tough especially up St Vincent St & onto the Kingston Bridge, however I settled into an even pace albeit on a very undulating course. I felt very positive throughout the race today which was good apart from the little negative dip I had in Bellahouston Park but this quickly dissolved. Splits were 1&2- 14.37 3 - 7.05 4-7.06 5-7.24 6-7.17 7-7.20 8-7.29 9-7.26 10-7.26 11-7.29 12-7.30 13.1-8.09. Started off quite well going up the hill on St Vincent Street ( was good to get this out of the way early on) Felt good for most of the race with my Garmin showing an average 7:14 at first 7 mies then 7:18 for the remainder of the race. Went through mile 10 @1:13.10 and knew if I managed to keep it together a PB was on. Onto mile 11 & 12 and there wasn't much left in the tank, however one final push got me to the finish.

The race itself went like clockwork, thanks must go to the organisers, race marshalls, oh and the sikh community near Crossmyloof station.
