Marcus Great conditions for the race this year - nice and cool and just a breeze - so a PB and just under my target time was a really satisfying result. It's a tough one mentally, so flat, with the Tower in view most of the way back on both laps, needed to keep concentrating on the pace all the way through but...RESULT! A minute off my PB set last month at Helsby.(Hope my clubmate Nick is OK after retiring injured.)

THANKS to everyone that bet their valuable credits on me - it incentivised me to overcome a head cold this morning and go for it any way! Hope you got a good reward for it.

This is my target half marathon for this year, and it should give me a PB. It would be my fourth PB on the same course, and should be quicker than the undulating Four Villages in January where I was under 90.

Watch the weather forecast before betting though, because if there's a northerly or southerly gale blowing, it could be slow!! Vale Royal AC, Fell Runners Association 1:24:12 1:28:52 1:29:00 1:28:58 67.21
